LATEST UPDATE FROM THE ABCSD SAFETY COMMITTEE
FEBRUARY 18, 2020
Helping our Member Contractors Improve
As we move into 2020, the ABC San Diego Safety Committee is hard at work to support the needs of our members. The Safety Committee meets once a month and is open to all member contractors that would like to participate. If you are unable to find the time to participate with the committee, we would welcome your ideas and feedback on how we can help you be more successful.
The focus of the Safety Committee is to help our member contractors improve their safety performance and keep abreast of changes that may affect them. One example is ABC’s STEP program. Founded in 1989 as a safety benchmarking and improvement tool.
This program is a membership benefit which continues to evolve into a world-class safety management system that not only measures your current safety performance but also identifies opportunities for improvement. This safety management system dramatically improves safety performance among our participating member companies regardless of their size or type of work.
Any member contractor can participate in STEP at no cost, up to the Platinum level. Completing the STEP application is quick and easy and your participation demonstrates that ABC contractors are among the safest in the industry. Each year ABC produces its Safety Performance Report (SPR) which illustrates how STEP participation helps our member contractors excel in employee safety.
