(Poway, CA) - Shandon Harbour, Executive Director of the San Diego Training Trust for ABC San Diego, has been named President/CEO of the San Diego Chapter effective June 21, 2017. Harbour replaces Scott Crosby, who resigned in order to relocate to his home community of St. Louis, Missouri. Crosby served as CEO from 2009 until May 31.

Harbour first joined ABC in 2013 overseeing the Chapter’s top quality journeyperson and safety training program, and continued those programs along with taking on leadership of the Training Trust in late 2016.

““We could not be more fortunate to have the talent already in house to provide strong leadership moving forward,” said Alex Galicia, chairman of the ABC San Diego Board of Directors. “Shandon possesses the skills and the relationships in the community ABC requires to successfully represent the merit shop construction industry at a critically important time.”

“In my role building our apprenticeship training capacity, I have learned firsthand what it takes for our member contractors to succeed in a competitive and often politically polarized business environment,” said Harbour. “It is my objective first and foremost to drive the ABC mission to provide opportunity to our members, and to re-engage them in building a strong merit shop community in San Diego’s construction industry,” said Harbour.

Prior to being hired by ABC San Diego in 2014, Harbour’s entrepreneurial and construction experience included serving as part of the management team and eventually President of SDA Security. Harbour also has an educational background having worked as a multi-level teacher and Peer Coach for the San Diego Unified School District.
