Government Affairs directors meet with lawmakers to discuss merit shop issues, and help candidates who are in alignment with ABC's merit shop philosophy be elected in city, county, state and federal races. Staff, full-time lobbyists and members who sit on the Legislative Committee review legislative issues, laws and regulations - with emphasis on new bills being introduced. Funds committed to support legislators, precedent-setting legislations and legal cases.

Proactive and progressive safety education helps our members reduce construction-related accidents and comply with industry regulations. The Safety Training and Evaluation Program (STEP) is also a key part of ABC's Safety Program.

Committees and Trade Councils provide opportunities to help govern the association's activities.
