ABC represents merit shop businesses nationwide. There are hundreds of associations in our country representing contractors in one way or another. The single matter that ties our members together – all 24,000 of them - from San Diego, California to Augusta, Maine, and throughout the nation – is our unshakable belief in free enterprise.

We call it the merit shop philosophy. ABC protects the rights of all contractors. We believe in open and fair competition, fewer regulations, lower taxes and responsible governing. We believe in these principles fervently. And, we’re the only organization in the country that works to advance merit shop construction nationwide.

ABC supports a contractor’s right to participate in the industry based on his or her ability to provide a service. If you merit the work you should get it, and ABC works hard to see that you do.
