The San Diego Training Center |
Each apprentice is required to attend classroom training where he or she learns the theory of the apprenticeship trade. Use of tools of the trade, safety, job terminology, etc. are included in the classroom training. Apprentices learn how and why something is done.
Apprentices are employed by Contractor Sponsors which are contractors who have agreed to hire and provide on-the-job experience under the supervision of their journeymen and foremen. Each apprentice has their work experience recorded and filed in the student's records.
Apprenticeship recruitment, selection, employment and training shall be without discrimination because of race, color, religion, national origin or sex.
